Description
This route is designed for lovers of castles, begins in Villarejo de Salvanés.
We will cross this municipality in search of the Castle of Villarejo. Although only the tower of the tribute is conserved, it constitutes an architectonic sample unique in Spain, when arranging the cubillos grouped in the sides and not in the edges, as it is habitual in the Spanish military architecture. Currently, it is restored and can be visited inside.
The next stop takes us to Villamanrique del Tajo, where the first section of the route passes with a pleasant descent that will make us the most pleasant route.
Already in Villamanrique, the Palace of Buenamesón deserves a stop. It is a building constructed at the beginning of the XVII century, and of its architecture it emphasizes the rectangular door with flat earmuffs and heraldic shields to the sides
It takes advantage to take forces since the stage continues in ascent, although not very pronounced.
We continue our route towards Fuentidueña del Tajo where we will find in the top of a hill the Castle of Fuentidueña. From here the town is dominated. At the moment belongs to the City council that allows the free visit for any interested.
The last stage of the stage passes between Fuentidueña and Villarejo de Salvanés, where we started .
