This year marks the 25th anniversary of the declaration of Aranjuez as a Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site by UNESCO, a milestone that the Aranjuez City Council commemorates with the ‘Concierto 25 Aniversario Declaración Aranjuez Paisaje Cultural’, which will take place on Friday, September 25, at 8:00 PM, in the Bicentenary Bullring of Aranjuez.

The Bicentenary Bullring will transform for the occasion into the stage for the El Real Sitio Symphony Orchestra (Katarina Gurska Foundation). The ensemble, consisting of more than 70 musicians, will be conducted by the prestigious conductor Borja Quintas.

Access will be free until full capacity is reached, with a total of 1,500 seats available.

The celebration of this 25th anniversary will thus bring together the heritage richness of Aranjuez with a cultural proposal that will take place in one of the most unique historical spaces of the city.

The musical program will extend throughout the weekend with two other musical proposals.

On Saturday, September 26, at 7:30 PM, the lyrical concert ‘Grandes Voces’ will be held in the Bullring, featuring the voices of Olga Syniakova, mezzo-soprano, and Jorge Puerta, tenor, two performers with promising futures in the international lyrical scene. Both will be accompanied on piano by the maestro Teresa Cos, with the collaboration of the oboist Louis Luciat.

Access will be free until full capacity is reached, with a total of 1,500 seats available.

On Sunday, September 27, at 12:00 PM, in the Plaza de la Constitución, the music will continue with ‘Viva la Zarzuela’, a concert dedicated to this musical genre featuring soprano Andreina Williams and baritone Abelardo Cárdenas, accompanied by the A.O.A. String Quartet, under the direction of Gena Liévano.

Access to this performance will also be free until full capacity is reached, with 200 seats available.

In this way, Aranjuez will become the stage for different musical proposals over three consecutive days, highlighting both the historical heritage of the city and its connection to culture and music.

The concerts are organized by the Aranjuez City Council and the Friends of the Opera Association of Aranjuez and are part of the initiatives that will be developed thanks to funding from the Community of Madrid for the tourism development of World Heritage destinations in the region.
