Description
This scenic travel stage runs directly between the fertile Henares and Jarama river basins, guiding you through the lower Henares countryside amidst rolling cereal fields and lush riverside forests as you depart from Alcalá de Henares toward Daganzo de Arriba without entering its town center. You are exploring an area of outstanding ecological value officially designated as a protected Special Protection Area for birds and integrated into the prestigious European Natura 2000 network, meaning it is highly common to spot majestic flocks of great bustards, lesser kestrels, or even an elusive roe deer along the path. From there, the trail continues westward toward Ajalvir and passes through Cobeña before quickly arriving at the final stop of the itinerary in Algete, a vibrant town where you can easily find a full range of local visitor services and amenities.
