TRADITION, DEVOTION AND FOLKLORE AT THE FOOT OF THE MONASTERY!

Every second Sunday of September, the Sierra de Guadarrama dresses up. Accompany the patroness of San Lorenzo de El Escorial in one of the most populous and colorful folk events in Spain. Declared a National Tourist Interest Festival, the Pilgrimage of the Virgen de Gracia is an event you cannot miss.

Where? San Lorenzo de El Escorial (Madrid) — From the Royal Monastery to the Hermitage of La Herrería

What you are going to experience:
Procession of Floats: Monumental parade of carts adorned
handcrafted with mountain and traditional motifs. Mountain Outfits: Hundreds of pilgrims showcasing the colorful gurriato dresses and regional costumes of the Sierra madrileña. Jotas and RONDALLAS: Live music, traditional dances, and the emotional "Homenaje a la Virgen" in front of the arches of the Monastery. Outdoor Day at La Herrería: A day of outdoor community in a unique protected natural setting. Accompany the pilgrims, listen to the echo of the dulzainers, and live the true essence of the mountains.
