Festivities in honor of the "Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios"

San Sebastián de los Reyes celebrates its traditional festivities in honor of the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios, an event categorized as a Festival of Tourist Interest. From August 24 to September 1, the municipality hosts a complete agenda with over 230 activities that combine devotion, traditional bullfighting events, gastronomy, family shows, and a notable musical offering.

Bullfighting tradition and encierros
The fundamental core of the festivities is the well-known Encierros de Madrid. Each day, from August 25 to 31 at 11:00 AM, the cattle traverse the urban layout of the town. Additionally, on August 25 at 10:00 PM, the traditional night encierro is celebrated. The bullfighting program is completed with the National Recortadores Contest and events in the bullring featuring prominent figures and novilleros.

Musical and cultural programming
The cultural offering includes free concerts at the Anfiteatro Municipal Adolfo Conde with performances by artists like Malú, Cali y el Dandee, Siloé, and Celtas Cortos. Meanwhile, the venue set up on Teide Street hosts performances by orchestras such as Panorama, París de Noia, and La Misión, along with various local shows and performances in the Plaza de la Constitución.

Family and gastronomic proposals
The children's program features the Pequefiestas area, which offers daily activities for children and families, culminating with the presentation of the group CantaJuego. As a new gastronomic highlight, a popular and free distribution of rice with bull's tail is held in the Plaza de la Constitución.

The official start of the celebrations takes place on August 24 with the proclamation and the subsequent Chupinazo. Throughout the week, the city council, along with local peñas and associations, offers a wide variety of cultural, sporting, and religious events open to all visitors.
