Chames meets Hermon Mehari

The Argentine pianist Sebastián Chames presents for the first time at the Café Central the American trumpeter Hermon Mehari in a project that bridges the gap between tradition and the avant-garde of contemporary jazz. Based in Europe and with an intense international career, both stand out for their marked artistic personality, great musical sensitivity, and a unique language.

Hermon Mehari, recognized for the warmth of his sound and his lyricism, has been distinguished by Jazz Magazine as International Artist of the Year (2022) and Trumpeter of the Year (2024), in addition to sharing the stage with figures such as Randy Brecker, Bobby Watson, Aaron Parks, or Seamus Blake. Sebastián Chames has established himself as one of the most interesting voices of the new generation of Argentine jazz, developing an intense activity in the European scene as a pianist, composer, and arranger.

Completing the quartet is the double bassist Darryl Hall, winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Bass Competition and collaborator with artists like Cedar Walton, Ravi Coltrane, or Archie Shepp, and the drummer Daniel García Bruno, a musician of great solidity, creativity, and versatility. Four top-level performers who offer an open, elegant, and deeply contemporary proposal.
