Description
This route is designed for the more athletes, begins in Soto del Real where we will take direction to Miraflores de la Sierra.
We will cross this municipality, where nature and artistic heritage are its main tourist attractions, and which is named after the legend that when passing through the town Queen Isabel de Borbón was impressed by the amount of flowers and exclaimed: "Mira Flores ! ".
From here, the next section crosses the Port of Canencia, direction to the municipality of Canencia. It is one of the lowest mountain passes in the Sierra de Guadarrama and, at the same time, less traveled, given its regional character. In spite of this, it is usually a very popular place on weekends and holidays, for its landscape and environmental values. Its surroundings are populated with pine forests.
Overcoming the Port, the stage passes through the municipalities of the mountains, Lozoya, Pinilla del Valle and Rascafría, where you can recover forces before facing the Port of Morcuera
The route from the North begins at 1150 meters in Rascafría, with an ascent of 13 kilometers with an average descent between 4.5% and 7%.
From the port you can observe, to the south, the Madrid plain, and towards the rest, beautiful views of the mountains, appreciating waterfalls that form the streams that come from the high mountain and peaks of more than 2000 meters as the Iron Heads and The Najarra.
From the top we have about 10 kilometers of descent with an average slope between 4-6% to reach Miraflores de la Sierra, at 1200 meters altitude.
To finish the route, head back to Soto del Real, where the stage began.
