El mayor destino cultural del mundo
El patrimonio cultural de la Comunidad de Madrid es interminable. Alcalá de Henares, Aranjuez, San Lorenzo de El Escorial y la ciudad de Madrid cuentan con enclaves declarados Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO. El Paisaje de la Luz, en Madrid, aúna una de las principales ofertas museísticas más relevantes del planeta y otros lugares únicos como el Parque del Retiro.
La región es sede de más de 100 museos, entre los que se encuentran el Museo del Prado, el Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía o el Thyssen-Bornemisza, y más de 150 salas de exposiciones y galerías de arte. Solo en Madrid se pueden contemplar Las Meninas de Velázquez o el Guernica de Picasso. Destacan también el Museo Arqueológico Regional o la Casa Cervantes en Alcalá de Henares.
El legado de la Corona Española está presente en lugares como el Palacio Real, el mayor de Europa occidental. Otros lugares el emblemáticos son la Plaza Mayor, la Puerta del Sol, la Gran Vía, la Plaza de España o la Plaza de Oriente.
Las Villas de Madrid son 11 destinos singulares por el reconocido valor de su patrimonio cultural. No podemos olvidar nuestros trenes históricos (Tren de la Fresa, Tren de Cervantes, Tren de Felipe II y el Tren de Arganda), nuestra red castillos o el importantísimo patrimonio arqueológico de la región.
Una agenda cultural y de ocio inabarcable
Madrid es uno de los grandes escenarios del mundo: teatro, musicales, ópera, música clásica, danza, festivales, conciertos … Y es la capital internacional del Flamenco, Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad.
Parques temáticos, zoológicos, museos originales … La región ofrece innumerables propuestas para el turismo familiar. Madrid es la capital mundial del fútbol gracias a nuestros clubes de élite internacional. También somos sede de grandes eventos deportivos y carreras populares.
Las terrazas de nuestros restaurantes, bares y hoteles son una expresión de nuestra cultura y forma de vida. Contamos además con una oferta de ocio nocturno imbatible para todos los gustos.

Más allá de la capital, a muy poca distancia, la región cuenta con un patrimonio natural sorprendente. Entre sus activos encontramos lugares únicos como el Hayedo de Montejo, también Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO, el Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guadarrama o la Reserva de la Biosfera de la Sierra del Rincón. La oferta de turismo rural MadRural es un potente activo de la región.

Nuestra gastronomía aúna restaurantes de cocina internacional de referencia, gastronomía tradicional, restaurantes y tabernas centenarios, mercados gastronómicos, las tapas, conocidas internacionalmente, e infinidad de rutas y experiencias gastronómicas. Nuestro turismo enológico, reforzado por una denominación de origen propia, Vinos de Madrid, permite disfrutar de experiencias inolvidables en nuestras bodegas.
En cuanto al turismo de compras, en Madrid se dan cita las principales marcas internacionales de lujo, comercios tradicionales, oferta de vanguardia, galerías singulares y centros comerciales, calles y barrios emblemáticos para ir de compras o mercados tradicionales como El Rastro.
Madrid es una región segura, abierta a todos, divertida, tolerante. Es un reconocido destino LGTBIQ+ y las Fiestas del Orgullo se han incorporado por derecho propio a nuestro calendario festivo.

In the region of Madrid there are different climates, depending on the area where we are, as there are differences between the capital, the Sierra de Guadarrama, the Sierra Oeste or the south of the region. In general, the weather in the different areas of the region is stable 60 percent of the days of the year.
Summers are hot and winters are cold, but whatever time you choose to come, you have a good chance of enjoying one of the famous skies painted by Velázquez.
Most of the territory is subject to Mediterranean-type climates, from the warmest and driest in the lower areas to the coldest and most humid in the mountainous regions. In spring, you will find the city in full bloom with its gardens and urban trees.
The first months usually bring rain, with an average temperature in April, according to studies carried out on the evolution of the last decades, of 12 ºC, but as May progresses the weather becomes almost summery, with an average of 21ºC in June, and the atmosphere in the streets becomes more and more lively.
In the Sierra area the weather is cold and rainy, with snowfall in the higher areas. Summers are dry and can be very hot, with an average temperature close to 25ºC in July and August. During these months it gets dark late and the activity of the city is postponed to the late afternoon and evening, while in August the city becomes quieter as many locals leave on vacation. At the end of this month and during September, temperatures soften considerably.
Autumn in Madrid is mild in October and, as November progresses, temperatures drop and rainfall increases to its annual maximums in this month and in December. The average temperature drops from 15 ºC in October to 7ºC in December. In any case, it is an exceptional occasion to see the Retiro Park dyed red and ocher.
Winters in Madrid are cold and dry. Snow is not common, but it can occur at the end of December and in January, the coldest month with an average of 6 º C. However, very common are very clear days, so you can always enjoy a warm and pleasant midday sun.
In the city of Madrid it does not usually snow, however in the higher parts of the Sierra, snowfalls are more frequent during the winter season.
