Lay siege to the fort
Aventura Sierra Norte takes us on a canoe trip around the walled section of Buitrago del Lozoya, as if we were attempting to conquer it from the outside.
In the evening, we’ll explore the inside of the walled section (the oldest and best preserved walls in the Region of Madrid) on foot, and we’ll climb the High Wall for a completely new perspective, to look at our surroundings from up above and visit the exhibition of siege machines. There we’ll see that we would have been quite well received by the defenders.
Riosequillo? Whose idea whas it to call this a "Dry River"?
A night’s sleep in Buitrago de Lozoya gives us the chance to enjoy Madrid’s largest natural pool early next morning. We’re talking about the recreational area of Riosequillo. There we can have a picnic lunch, or head to one of the restaurants in the town. All of them boast premium quality dishes with ingredients sourced from the mountains. After a good lunch, we can head home with our batteries fully recharged.
Warm waters in Madrid's Sierra Oeste
The Sierra Oeste provides magnificent conditions for open-air bathing, in close contact with nature. You can’t really call yourself a madrileño or madrileña if you’ve never bathed in the reservoir of San Juan or that of Picadas. There’s got to be a first time sometime, and then you’ll keep coming back for more.
One the first day, we propose a water activity at the Embalse de Picada reservoir, conducted by Yucalcari Aventuras, and a visit to the castle named Castillo de la Coracera in the evening.
Madrid, playa a playa
Decir Madrid es decir playa. Lo saben mejor que nadie quienes la disfrutan con cierta frecuencia en San Martín de Valdeiglesias y en algunas zonas próximas de la Sierra Oeste de Madrid. Tras descansar en el precioso hotel de Hacienda La Coracera, podemos disfrutar desde primera hora de un buen día de baño en la mejor playa de Madrid, en el Pantano de San Juan. Y si todavía tenemos energía podremos practicar alguna divertida actividad acuática de las muchas que están a nuestra disposición.
