Experience one of Spain’s most prestigious cultural traditions just outside Madrid, featuring affordable tickets and top-tier talent.
If you are looking to immerse yourself in a deeply rooted Spanish tradition, mark your calendar for Saturday, June 13th. The charming town of Daganzo de Arriba, located in the Region of Madrid, will become the epicenter of the bullfighting world as it hosts a crucial stage of the prestigious Copa Chenel 2026.
What is the Copa Chenel?
The Copa Chenel is one of the most important national and international bullfighting championships. Sponsored by the regional government of Madrid and the Toro de Lidia Foundation, this tournament is designed to showcase talented, rising bullfighters (matadores), giving them a major platform to boost their professional careers.
What’s at Stake?
This event marks the high-stakes second phase of the tournament. Out of the initial 18 competitors, only 9 have made it this far. In Daganzo, three top bullfighters—Manuel Diosleguarde, Alejandro Marcos, and Álvaro Burdiel—will compete head-to-head, featuring bulls from the renowned La Machamona and Los Eulogios ranches.
Only the best will advance to the semifinals in July, all fighting for the ultimate dream: a spot in the Grand Final at Madrid’s world-famous Las Ventas bullring on July 30th.
