Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) is Spain's leading airport in terms of passenger, cargo, and operational traffic, as well as the fifth busiest in Europe. It is located 12 km from the center of Madrid and has five terminals: Terminals 1, 2, 3, 4, and 4S.

It has flight connections to 30 domestic airports and 180 international airports serving Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa. It is the European airport with the most flights to Latin America.

The airport is connected by high-capacity highways, the M-11, M-12, M-13, and M-14, for access by private vehicle.

There are several options to reach the airport by public transport:

Taxi: Fixed fare of €33 (within the M-30 ring road) or €22 for the first 9 kilometers on all other routes outside the M-30.

 

VTC: Uber, Cabify, Bolt... Pick-up at designated parking lots.

 

EMT City Buses:

Line 200: Avenida de América Interchange - Terminals 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 (€1.50).

Line 203: Atocha - Cibeles - O'Donnell - Terminals 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 (24 hours, €5).

Line 101: Terminals 1 - 2 - 3 - Barajas - Canillejas (€1.50).

 

Intercity Buses:

Line 822: San Fernando de Henares - Coslada - Terminal 1.

Line 824: Alcalá de Henares - Torrejón de Ardoz - Terminal 1 - Terminal 2.

Line 827: Tres Cantos - Terminal 4 - Canillejas.

Line 828: UAM - Alcobendas - Terminal 4 - Canillejas.

 

Metro:

Line 8: Nuevos Ministerios - Airport T1-T2-T3 - Airport T4 (28-minute journey. €3 supplement for users without a Transport Pass or Tourist Card).

 

Commuter Trains:

Line C1: Príncipe Pío - Airport T4.
