Golf in the Community of Madrid

The Community of Madrid is receiving an increasing number of tourists who visit us and take advantage of their trip to play golf. If you like it or are thinking of taking up this sport, below you will find the various possibilities available in the 29 courses in the region based on tastes and levels, where you can improve your 'swing'. Madrid also has 5 clubs without a course, whose main objective is to bring together a group of golf lovers for tournaments and different social events.

Golf, considered by many to be an elitist sport, has an increasing number of followers, motivated by the feeling of relaxation and tranquility that a day walking between the different holes of the course suggests.

Currently, in our region, this sport is the first in terms of number of members (in absolute terms, Madrid, with 94,999 members, concentrates 31.0% of the total number of licenses, followed by Andalusia, with 51,902, and Catalonia, with 29,702, accounting for 17.0% and 9.7% of the total number of members, respectively). It is not surprising, therefore, that there are more than thirty clubs with golf courses, with different levels of demand.

In the very centre of the capital, there is the National Golf Centre, a club open to all where you will find 18 competition holes, but where you can also perfect your style thanks to its school. Very close to Madrid is the Villa de Madrid Country Club, which, opened in 1931, is one of those with the most history.

In some cases, to be able to access the club, it is necessary to become a member, as is the case of the Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo (RSHECC), the Club de Golf Retamares, or the Club de Golf La Moraleja among others.

One of the best courses in Europe is Golf Santander, located in the town of Boadilla del Monte, designed by Rees Jones and home to the Jim Mc Lean golf school, considered the number one in the world.

Other options are Golf Park Madrid, where you can also practice other sports, but above all improve your technique with irons, the RACE Sports Complex, the Lomas Bosque Golf Club, Robledal Golf, El Encín Golf or Golf La Dehesa.

Practicing this sport is recommended to combat stress, are you up for it?
