Exhibition "El cartel de toros de vanguardia: de Picasso a Barceló"

Information

The Picasso Museum – Eugenio Arias Collection presents the exhibition “El cartel de toros de vanguardia: de Picasso a Barceló”, a journey through the evolution of the bullfighting poster from its origins as an informational medium to its transformation into an artwork.

The exhibition is based on a tradition deeply linked to the history of printed advertising in Spain —the first preserved poster, dated in 1737, announced precisely a bullfight— to show how the bullfighting graphic language incorporated image, color, composition, and modernity.
