National Tourist Paradors
Paradores de Turismo in the Community of Madrid
In the Community of Madrid we have two Paradores, the Parador de Chinchón and the Parador de Alcalá de Henares.
The Paradores de Turismo are unique hotels spread throughout the country. Their main attraction lies in their buildings or locations, which have been chosen for their great historical, cultural or artistic interest. Staying in a Parador always results in a unique experience, which merges with the history and realities of each territory.

Chinchón Tourist Inn
The former Augustinian Monastery, dating from the 17th century, is the building chosen to house this Parador in Chinchón.
The building has been renovated and adapted to modern needs and amenities, but it still has its cloister, which is now landscaped. The actual accommodation area, where the rooms are, is the old area where the monks were. The original building was founded by the Counts of Chinchón and, thus, many of its rooms have historical names. You can stay in the Prior's Room or in the Countess of Chinchón's Room.
The Parador has a select gastronomic offer. It houses several restaurants, such as El Convento or El Bodegón, where traditional Madrid cuisine is usually predominant.

Tourist Parador of Alcala de Henares
The city of Cervantes is a top-class tourist attraction due to its rich historical heritage. For this reason, an old 17th century school-convent, the Hostería del Estudiante, formerly the Colegio Mayor de San Jerónimo, is today a prominent Parador de Turismo.
The building combines classical architecture with modern interior decoration. Added to this syncretism is its varied range of services, which range from a conference room, a SPA and a business centre, in addition to the usual services of the Paradores network.
This Parador was the second in the long list of Paradores, opened by King Alfonso XIII in 1929. Since then, a profuse remodelling and fitting-out project has turned this hotel into a benchmark in the city of Heritage par excellence.
Its gastronomic offer is also a synthesis between Castilian tradition and signature cuisine. You can taste its version of the typical migas alcalaínas, a good confit cod, or traditional roast suckling pig or lamb.
