Madrid is positioned as the nerve centre of road connections in Spain, thanks to its extensive and modern network of highways and highways that link it to the rest of the country and to Europe. This first-class road infrastructure makes the Madrid region a strategic point for the transport of people and goods, boosting trade, tourism and mobility in general.
The Community of Madrid has an extensive network of highways, highways and secondary roads that facilitate the connection between the capital and the rest of the region, as well as with other autonomous communities. Most of these roads are free, except for some radial highways.
Radial highways:
A-1: Northern Highway. It links Madrid with Burgos and Irún, reaching the French border. It is the access route for destinations such as the Sierra Norte, Buitrago del Lozoya, Torrelaguna, Patones...
A-2: Northeast Highway. It connects Madrid with Zaragoza and Barcelona, reaching the French border via the AP-7. It can be used to reach destinations such as Alcalá de Henares.
A-3: Eastern Highway. It runs from Madrid to Valencia. It provides access to tourist destinations such as the Sureste Regional Park, Villarejo de Salvanés, Chinchón, Colmenar de Oreja and other destinations in the Las Vegas and the Madrilenian Alcarria shires.
A-4: Southern Highway. It runs to Córdoba, Seville and Cádiz. This road allows us to reach destinations such as Aranjuez, Warner Park or Laguna de San Juan.
A-5: Southwest Highway. It ends in Badajoz, on the Portuguese border. It is the access road to towns such as Navalcarnero.
A-6: Northwest Highway. It ends in La Coruña. It provides access to destinations such as the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, San Lorenzo de El Escorial, El Pardo, etc.

R-3: Madrid - Arganda del Rey.
R-4: Madrid - Ocaña.
R-5: Madrid - Navalcarnero.
AP-6: Villaba (Madrid) - Adanero (Ávila).
M-12: Madrid-Barajas Airport.
Beltways:
M-30: It runs around the centre of Madrid.
M-40: Second ring road of Madrid.
M-45: Third ring road of Madrid.
M-50: Outer ring road of Madrid.
Other highways:
A-42: Madrid - Toledo.
M-607: Madrid - Colmenar Viejo. It is one of the access roads to the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park or Manzanares el Real.
M-501: Carretera de los Pantanos. It brings us closer to tourist destinations such as Boadilla del Monte, San Matín de Valdeiglesias, the San Juan reservoir and other places in the Sierra Oeste.
