Historic trains in Madrid

Are you ready to travel back in time? We're off to discover three destinations, aboard three trains, that will take us to three different eras.

Less than 50 kilometres from the centre of Madrid are San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Aranjuez and Alcalá de Henares, places declared World Heritage by UNESCO. This recognition certifies that their landscapes, architecture and traditions are unique and are forged in universal values. They are international reference points and great examples of the cultural diversity of the planet.

An original way of approaching these places, learning about their past and delving into their surroundings, is through the historic trains that connect them to Madrid. A journey back in time that will make the visit a unique experience.

These unique trains, both for their design and for their tourist and educational activities, show us the past and present of the railway. The means of transport that, in the 19th century, inaugurated the modern era with the communications revolution. At that time, they were heading towards a new era. Now we are invited to learn more about our past.
